Question: I've used Kleen Free as a Scabies Treatment. Now, how do I Prevent a Scabies Re-Infestation?
Answer: Thank goodness you have gotten rid of Scabies to begin with. Many people leave it untreated and itch for months or even years. (i.e. the 7 year itch).
Here are some guidelines for preventing the return of scabies.
- Keep treating yourself with Kleen Free at least once a week for 4 weeks. This will help with any eggs that get laid after you feel you are rid of the scabies mites.
- Continue to change and wash bed linens as well as your night clothes and towels frequently with Kleen Free
- Children should not share clothing or other personal articles such as hair brushes, combs or towels with one another
- When an outbreak of scabies is reported be alert for symptoms in member of your family. It may take 30-40 days for symptoms of scabies to occur in some members of the family.
- If your child has scabies, please notify the school authorities so the school will be alerted to check for any outbreak You wouldn't want to pass it to someone else and then wind up getting scabies from them again later on.
