Hamilton Public Health Services runs Bug Busters clinics to screen and offer parents help in treating lice infestations. They also provide treatments for low-income families that can't afford the expensive shampoos.

Haverhill dad Eric Stafford wants regular head checks reinstated at his daughter's school after she came home with head lice this fall. Stafford said at least six children in his daughter's first-grade class at the Silver Hill Horace Mann Charter School were also infected with the tiny bugs.

They're creepy crawly and anyone can get them. They're head lice and can be a nuisance for parents and schools. Head lice are mostly found on children ages 3 to 11 and the signs of infection can be easy to spot.
